This report analyzed 14 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region to see which ones were the most popular doctor's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Engineering program at each school on the list.

Top 10 Most Popular Engineering Doctor's Degree Schools
Our 2023 rankings named University of Colorado Boulder the most popular school in the Rocky Mountains Region for engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the midsize city of Boulder, CU - Boulder is a public school with a very large student population.
Women make up 32% of the engineering majors at the school.
The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at University of Utah helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in the Rocky Mountains Region . Located in the medium-sized city of Salt Lake City, U of U is a public college with a very large student population.
Of the 81 students majoring in engineering at U of U, 73% are male and 27% are female.
Out of the 14 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Colorado School of Mines landed the # 3 spot on the list. Mines is a moderately-sized public school located in the large suburb of Golden.
About 26% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 74% are male.
Out of the 14 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Colorado State University - Fort Collins landed the # 4 spot on the list. Colorado State is a very large public school located in the midsize city of Fort Collins.
Of the 37 students majoring in engineering at Colorado State, 70% are male and 30% are female.

Out of the 14 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Wyoming landed the # 5 spot on the list. Located in the town of Laramie, UW is a public college with a large student population.
Of the 28 students majoring in engineering at UW, 82% are male and 18% are female.
With a ranking of #6, Utah State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. USU is a very large public school located in the small city of Logan.
About 20% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 80% are male.
University of Idaho landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular doctor’s degree engineering programs. Located in the town of Moscow, U of I is a public school with a fairly large student population.
Women make up 35% of the engineering majors at the school.
University of Colorado at Colorado Springs came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Engineering Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region ranking. UCCS is a large public school located in the large city of Colorado Springs.
Of the 16 students majoring in engineering at UCCS, 88% are male and 13% are female.
