Our analysis looked at 74 schools in the Southeast Region to see which associate degree programs were the most popular for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Engineering program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Northern Virginia Community College the most popular school in the Southeast Region for engineering students working on their associate degree. Northern Virginia Community College is a very large public school located in the suburb of Annandale.

About 20% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 80% are male.

The in-demand associate degree programs at Wake Technical Community College helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in the Southeast Region . Wake Technical Community College is a fairly large public school located in the large suburb of Raleigh.

Women make up 22% of the engineering majors at the school.

Out of the 74 schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the rural area of Perkinston, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College is a public college with a medium-sized student population.

About 19% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 81% are male.

Out of the 74 schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Tidewater Community College landed the # 4 spot on the list. Tidewater Community College is a large public school located in the city of Norfolk.

About 14% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 86% are male.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Central Piedmont Community College is a great place for engineering students working on their associate degree. Located in the large city of Charlotte, Central Piedmont Community College is a public school with a fairly large student population.

About 24% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 76% are male.

East Mississippi Community College came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Engineering Associate Degree Schools in the Southeast Region ranking. EMCC is a small public school located in the rural area of Scooba.

Women make up 17% of the engineering majors at the school.

Itawamba Community College landed the #7 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree engineering programs. Located in the remote town of Fulton, ICC is a public school with a small student population.

Of the 28 students majoring in engineering at ICC, 82% are male and 18% are female.

Holmes Community College landed the #7 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular associate degree engineering programs. Holmes Community College is a small public school located in the rural area of Goodman.

With a ranking of #9, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Worldwide did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for engineering students working on their associate degree. Embry-Riddle Worldwide is a large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Daytona Beach.

Thomas Nelson Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for engineering students to get a associate degree. It came in at #9 on the list. Located in the medium-sized city of Hampton, TNCC is a public college with a medium-sized student population.

Of the 27 students majoring in engineering at TNCC, 85% are male and 15% are female.
