Our 2023 rankings named University of Michigan - Ann Arbor the most popular school in the Great Lakes Region for industrial engineering students working on their master’s degree. U-M is a very large public school located in the medium-sized city of Ann Arbor.

Women make up 35% of the IE majors at the school.

Purdue University - Main Campus

West Lafayette, IN

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Purdue University - Main Campus. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region list. Purdue is a fairly large public school located in the small city of West Lafayette.

Wayne State University ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region list. Located in the large city of Detroit, Wayne State is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Of the 36 students majoring in IE at Wayne State, 83% are male and 17% are female.

University of Illinois at Chicago ranked #7 on this year’s Most Popular Industrial Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region list. Located in the city of Chicago, UIC is a public school with a very large student population.

About 12% of the students majoring in IE at the school are women while 88% are male.
