To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Special Education program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Western Governors University the most popular school in the Rocky Mountains Region for special education students working on their master’s degree. Located in the suburb of Salt Lake City, WGU is a private not-for-profit college with a very large student population.

Of the 420 students majoring in special ed at WGU, 14% are male and 86% are female.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of Northern Colorado is a great place for special education students working on their master’s degree. University of Northern Colorado is a large public school located in the medium-sized city of Greeley.

Of the 152 students majoring in special ed at University of Northern Colorado, 7% are male and 93% are female.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means University of Utah is a great place for special education students working on their master’s degree. Located in the city of Salt Lake City, U of U is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Of the 49 students majoring in special ed at U of U, 6% are male and 94% are female.

Of the 23 students majoring in special ed at UCCS, 17% are male and 83% are female.
