Out of all the majors we analyze each year, information science was ranked #57 in the country. In fact 18,325 degrees and certificates were handed out in 2020-2021.
It's not easy to decide which program to enroll in when you have so many options available. Our analysis looked at 66 schools in the Southeast Region to see which bachelor's degree programs were the most popular for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Information Science program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Virginia Commonwealth University the most popular school in the Southeast Region for information science students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the medium-sized city of Richmond, VCU is a public college with a fairly large student population.
About 25% of the students majoring in IS at the school are women while 75% are male.
While working on their Bachelor's Degree, IS majors at VCU accumulate an average of around $25,218 in student debt. Assuming that a graduate chooses a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly loan payment is $213.
