To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from schools with online programs.

Our 2023 rankings named East Carolina University the most popular online school in the Southeast Region for communication and media studies students working on their bachelor’s degree. Located in the city of Greenville, ECU is a public school with a very large student population.

Of the 317 students majoring in communications at ECU, 37% are male and 63% are female.

On average, communications graduates from ECU take out $22,625 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $298, based on a 10-year repayment plan.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College is a great place for communication and media studies students working on their online bachelor’s degree. Louisiana State University is a fairly large public school located in the midsize city of Baton Rouge.

Of the 301 students majoring in communications at Louisiana State University, 23% are male and 77% are female.

Out of the 13 online programs at schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Liberty University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the small city of Lynchburg, Liberty University is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.

Of the 204 students majoring in communications at Liberty University, 28% are male and 72% are female.
