Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.)

(MUST choose a concentration in either Higher Education Administration or K-12 Education)

The College of Education of Argosy University recognizes the need to provide professional educators with the extensive knowledge and range of skills necessary to function effectively in their professions. Programs have been developed by the faculty members to provide working professionals with the opportunity to enhance their personal and professional competence through completion of a relevant and meaningful graduate program.

The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership is for those students who are in, or wish to assume, leadership positions in K-12 and higher education settings, or for those students who work in other education or education-related settings. Graduate students can specialize in K-12 or Higher Education in their focus of study.

The College of Education has three goals directing all of the intended program outcomes for its graduate students:

  • Provide a relevant curriculum that includes the sets of competencies that prepare students to meet the demands of current practice.
  • Develop reflective practitioners capable of research-based decision-making.
  • Provide an environment that is conducive to a free exchange of ideas within a climate of respect.

Students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to assess, interpret, and modify their practice as needed.

Students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to identify, implement, and evaluate current best practices in Educational Leadership.

Students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to communicate effectively.

Students will be able to demonstrate effective integration of instructional technology into the teaching and learning process.

Students will be able to demonstrative their abilities to apply the various competencies of the discipline of curriculum and instruction.

Students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to evaluate and use research.

Students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to design and conduct research and evaluation projects.

Students will be able to demonstrate their abilities to identify and respond to ethical and professional issues.
