Project managers lead teams assembled to complete specific tasks. When the task is completed, the project manager moves on to a new project—and often a new team. They may work with in-house staff or outside contractors, but do not usually have a permanent staff of their own. Project managers are in charge of completing a clearly defined piece of work such as renovating a factory or developing a training program.
